This contemporary Aboriginal artwork was created by Aboriginal artist John Smith Gumbula, a multi-awardee who has been passionate in the arts, cultural affairs,
education, tech, and innovation spanning over 3 decades.
The design and symbolism depicts his Country where he was born in Queensland, WakkaWakka Country. The wallabies 'Waiya' are plenty in the area and would
come down to Barambah Creek to drink. The design symbolisms shows the wallaby tracks, and water at Barambah Creek on WakkaWakka Country.
